Jimmy Suerken
El Paso raised, Houston based. A former government and economics teacher who became a personal injury attorney, and built his firm around one idea: the lawyer you hire is the lawyer who leads your case.

From El Paso to the courtroom
I grew up in El Paso, on the border, in a place where you learn early that nobody hands you anything. As a Mexican-American kid, I watched people work twice as hard for half the credit — and I watched what happened when the system didn't listen to them.
That's what took me to Yale, back to Texas to teach high school government and economics, and finally to the University of Houston Law Center.
Why I teach before I argue
Before law school I stood in front of a classroom every day explaining how government actually works to teenagers who had every reason not to care. That turns out to be most of this job.
An injury case is a stretch of months where things are being decided about your life by people you never meet, in language designed to be hard to follow. The single most useful thing a lawyer can do is make it make sense — what the insurer is actually doing, what an offer really means, what you are giving up if you sign. I explain your case the way I'd explain it to someone I love, in English or in Spanish, and I keep explaining it until it is clear.
Personal by design
At a lot of firms the lawyer in the advertisement is not the person handling your file. You sign, and from then on you deal with a case manager.
Suerken Law works differently. I lead every case myself, and you get my direct line. When you have a question about your case, you are not re-explaining your situation to someone reading the file for the first time. When an offer comes in, the advice comes from the lawyer who knows your case — which is also why it is honest, because I'm the one who has to stand behind it.
Behind that is the support a serious injury case needs: experienced co-counsel when a case calls for more firepower, and the experts your claim requires, from accident reconstruction to medical specialists. You get that full effort, with me still leading your case.
In Spanish, from start to finish
I'm fully bilingual. Spanish-speaking clients talk through their case with me — not through an interpreter, and not with the important parts summarized afterward. That matters most in exactly the moments precision counts: describing how an injury happened, explaining what an offer closes off, and deciding whether to take it.
What I handle
Car and truck collisions, work injuries — including claims against employers who opted out of Texas workers' compensation — and wrongful death. I practice across Texas, with Houston and El Paso as home ground.
Your fight is my fight
I didn't become a lawyer to push paper. I became a lawyer to stand next to people on the worst day of their lives and make sure they're heard.
If you've been hurt in a wreck, you already know: accidents suck. The pain, the bills, the adjuster calling before you're even out of the hospital. You don't need another voicemail system. You need a partner — someone who picks up the phone, explains everything plainly in English or Spanish, and fights like it's his own family on the line.
Because when I take your case, that's exactly how I treat it. Your fight is my fight. Period.
